My First Monday Made it Link Up

Welcome to my very first link up for:

I'm so excited to finally link up with 4th Grade Frolics and share with you what I've been working on this past week!

(source)

I'm sure you have all seen this picture around Pinterest like I have! It's such a quick and easy craft, I couldn't pass it up. It cost me $4 total...all from the dollar store.

You'll need:
 a straight vase,
pencils (I used 38 pencils),
your choice of flowers to put inside,
a glue gun
and ribbon.

Then you just start gluing! You have to be kind of quick after you have the glue on a pencil because it dries FAST.

All in all it took me about 15 minutes and this is my finished product!

My second one is also made with something from the dollar store, I used packs of party straws...

To make birthday straws for my students!

I used the pencil/straw toppers from my "Happy Birthday" pack that I just finished!

This pack includes a lot of fun things to help make your students day great!

It includes 3 pages of the pencil/straw "Happy Birthday" toppers shown in the picture above

2 different birthday month banners (polka dot & chevron) with student tags:

4 pages of colorful Happy Birthday notes from the teacher:

Everything you need to make a Birthday Book from your class including 3 cover pages and 4 different recording sheets to choose from:

Polka Dot birthday certificates:

And everything you need to create a Birthday Take Home Bag for your class!

The birthday bag includes a parent letter, math cake activity & a class birthday journal

It also includes a bonus birthday cheer poster and class birthday graph activity!

This entire pack will be on sale 20% off this entire week! Click any of the pictures above to go to my store and check it out!

Also, head over to Kinders on the Block to enter her giveaway!

Check it out! {It won't last long!}

I just had to share this amazing deal with all of you before it's gone!

I just purchased a National Geographic Kids one year subscription (10 issues) for only $9.60 from Plum District!

I looked on the National Geographic website and they're selling it for $15. Plum District is selling them for $12, but if you use the promo code: BACK2SCHOOL20 then you'll get an additional 20% off!

The $12 deal is going for the next 4 days, but when I used my promo code it said it was only good for another 11 hours....so if you're interested, I would HURRY and grab it!

I LOVE these magazines but have never used them in my classroom before....I'm SO EXCITED to have them this year!

First up, my nominees:

I decided to answer a few questions from each of my nominators. So here we go:

1. What is your favorite sweet treat?
I would have to go with ice cream. I love all the varieties you can get....whether in a fruity mood or chocolate, it totally satisfies!

2. Do you have sibling?
Yep! I'm the middle of five. One brother, the oldest, and the rest sisters.

3. What's the best thing about being a teacher?
I love watching each child grow throughout the year and seeing them succeed at hard things.

4. Name two of your favorite school supplies and why.
Glue stick is probably my number one. It gets things messy which means fun! Possibilities are endless! I would also have to say scissors for the same reason....AND fine motor is always a plus!

5. How many states and countries have you visited?
Countries: Mexico, Canada, Jamaica, Cayman Islands and, of course, USA!
States: Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Nevada, Utah, Washington & Wyoming. (16 down...34 to go!)

6. Do you prefer a quiet, beach vacation, or an adventure-filled time?
Definitely have to go with adventure. Although, I wouldn't turn down a beach vacation!

7. If you could have any super power what would it be and why?
I could travel anywhere with the snap of my fingers....it would be so nice! Wake up, get ready, snap fingers....I'm at work! Or, snap fingers and I'm in Hawaii or Australia! You can't deny it, that would be AMAZING.

8. What is your favorite book?
I'll have to go with the Hunger Game series....anyone else excited for November!?

9. If you could go anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Africa. I want to volunteer at an orphanage, help get clean water & go on a SAFARI!

10. If you could have dinner with anyone in the world, alive or dead, real or fictional, who would it be and why?
Hmmmm.....this is a hard one. I would have to say my wonderful Grandma who passed away 7 years ago so I could hear her voice again, hug her & have my husband meet her.

11. If you could have anything for dinner, what would it be?
Cafe Rio pork salad sounds SO good right now

Random Facts about me:
1. I've only broken one bone....my toe....when I was tricked into kicking a brick (That's a story for another day)
3. I love the smell after it rains
